Born from the ash of a body that’s past
And the faces are surrounding
they’re so familiar
It’s either my sixth or my last
I won’t waste it
I’ve felt like this before
Since the day that we packed up that room
You could say that we’ve all shared a gloom
Between the moments of doubt
I'd try to comfort myself
Or at least convince my brain
It wouldn’t come without some pain
The absent voice of spite
Tries to take another bite
Missing pieces of the frame
Claiming it won’t be the same
But I still tried to understand
the path that you chose to take
And when this died the first time
I couldn’t take the weight of it crushing me
I couldn’t take the weight of knowing we might never walk
through this door together again as we walked away to decay on our own

A blank space in my mind
From which to draw inspiration
creations compilations and collaborations
And sometimes it’s as stiff as a wall
But that’s fine cause when it’s full
I don’t always feel the need to be in control
Waves are formed of the ground
Between the earth and the sky
A ripple of dancing air can be felt
A little too close to the heart for some
While for others it’s just another knife to the pump
And not just on the surface of everything that you see
But hidden in a part that’s the hardest to reach
some things only grow apart
Without ever bidding adieu
They only grow apart
No longer joined they are now unfettered
Time and time again
The path of solitude aches in a different way
I’ll stray from that type of pride every chance that I get
Choosing peace to a degree but when it comes I will make dents

Sincerity vs Society

He’s either brave or a fool
Or some would say a machine
Face green filled with envy
Day dream change themes quickly
Before they know that it’s empty
Before they know how to see
the weight of words you speak
Now draw your tongue and try your best to cut deep
Or if you dare to cast a stone from the place that you hide
And when it breaks we will swallow the shards as sharp as a knife
Cold as the steel left to rust into decay from another rain
I have been trying to say I’m sorry
But there’s nothing I could say
And there’s nothing I could do
that would bring you any kind of peace of mind
With time I know you’ll learn
to heal these wounds on your own
With the heart on my sleeve
I could strive everyday just to make you believe
That when my time here comes down to the end
You’ll look back and know you had a friend
Some one who had your back when it was needed
And always stood by your side when you were defeated

Calm Before

I couldn’t stand in the way of what you want
but what you’ve got is a bridge that I would burn before I’d dare to cross
and it always seems that the way through it was rejected
parts that moved connected leaving less than we’d expect of them
an overcast consuming buildings collecting a sense of the calm that comes before
the sky is worn here shaking with the breeze
reaching for grey but ending incomplete
soaked into the ground under my feet
mortar stained black from the dirt beneath
bled from flesh bones and teeth
to transform the strong into the weak
the darkness in this city has stolen my heart more than once before

aligned top and right view
block letter format revised 32
draft after draft will be replaced
endlessly tweaking mistakes
scrolling through a more detailed view
of plans that show how it was made
connected to everything
except for the world around you
at times it seemed to control you
as the time it takes is what you lose
glow of the screen has pulled you
through the glass from which you view
it’s pulled you in from the distance
I had the best of intentions
your face left blank of expression
and there’s no way I can fix this
it was designed in a way
to be replaced and not maintained
and every time you’d even pay
to give the spy a new upgrade
when precisely rendered
your attention will be captured
with a fraction of the effort
until this world is consumed
and completely wrecked from within we’ll descend toward our doom
once everyone that you’ve ever known has ceased to move
and the shell of what you once were forever haunts this tomb
but I still remember a time
when we could look into each other’s eyes
anytime that we needed to speak between
our species will never survive
if we can’t learn the value of a life
without the cost of these types of chains
